New opportunities to intensify the Cluster’s international cooperation in Norway!

The Lublin Medicine Cluster cooperates with experts, networks and cooperation platforms from more than 20 countries around the world. We are facing a new prospect of strengthening both scientific and business relations in Norway due to the appointment of our long-time informal partner Per Lykke as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Rjukan (Norway).

As a long-time supporter of our region, the new Honorary Consul brings unique experience and knowledge that can become the key to new projects. Mr. Lykke is beside his Consul position also lawyer and advisor for the Norwegian-American organizations in the USA. He is a former member of the County Parliament and also a former chairman of the Constitutional Committee and a former deputy member of the National Parliament (Norway). He is the founder and former CEO of Hardangervidda National Parkcentre which he worked with for over 18 years. In Poland, he has repeatedly lectured on national parks and environmental issues.

Lublin actively cooperates with Norway on many levels, combining scientific, cultural and economic aspects. An example is the Academy of Cross-Border Cooperation, aimed at young leaders from Poland, Norway and Ukraine, which develops skills in international cooperation. The Medical University of Lublin, which is the co-coordinator of the Lublin Medicine Cluster, has recently established cooperation with Oslo in the area of ophthalmology. Companies from Lublin are benefiting from Norwegian funds supporting innovation, sustainable development and environmental protection, which further strengthens Polish-Norwegian ties and opens up new opportunities for cooperation.

We are looking forward to an upcoming meeting with Mr. Lykke dedicated to discussing specific plans and initiatives with the Lublin Medicine Cluster.
