Mateusz Sagan, MBA – Economist / Manager and Strategist in Biotechnology Projects
Mateusz Sagan holds an MBA from the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK.
He is a Managing Executive with over 25 years of experience in overseeing international companies, family businesses, and innovative startups. He has served as CEO of Biella Neher Holding in Poland, CEO of Iron Mountain Poland, and Managing Director at Esselte (Kyiv and Moscow). He has worked for over 10 years in Switzerland, Ukraine, and Russia. He is also an Interim Manager and a member of the Board of Directors of the Interim Managers Association in Poland.
He has led advisory projects in Eastern Europe under initiatives funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN (as part of UNDP projects). He is a member of the Lublin Medicine Cluster Board, a Mentor for Startups in the MIT Enterprise Forum CEE Programme, and a TEDx Conference Speaker.
For nearly a decade, he has supported Polish biotechnology and medical innovations in areas such as capital raising, innovation commercialization, and strategic management, including facilitating stock market listings (e.g. SDS Optic S.A., Vaxican Sp. z o.o., Medical Inventi S.A., FiBioMed Sp. z o.o., Biotarget Sp. z o.o., Billennium Healthcare Sp. z o.o., Tiimo Copenhagen).
He is an Ambassador of the European Innovation Council (EIC), Co-Manager of Poland’s largest Horizon2020 funding project (€4m), and Co-Creator of a €10m Venture Debt Investment project with the European Investment Bank (SDS Optic S.A.).
Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vaxican Sp. z o.o. and as the Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MediSensonic S.A., as well as being a Board Member of MoD Partners Sp. z o.o., Partner Limes Sp. z o.o., and FiBioMed Sp. z o.o. Additionally, he holds the position of Proxy at SDS Optic S.A.
