The EU Road Campaign “Look, Poland! Keep a Watchful Eye on Cancer!” in Lublin

On July 25th, during the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów festival in Lublin, a special bus offering free consultations with cancer experts will make a stop. This is part of the informational campaign titled “Look, Poland! Keep a Watchful Eye on Cancer!” organized by the European Commission as part of the Cancer Mission.

The EU bus traveling through Poland stops in five cities, with Lublin being the final stop after Katowice, Gdynia, Grunwald, and Wrocław. In a specially marked bus, residents will have the opportunity to meet specialists who deal with cancer on a daily basis.

During the four-day campaign, Lublin residents will have the chance to:

• Meet with specialists and ask them questions about cancer, prevention, and treatment.

• Participate in Q&A sessions where experts and cancer patients will share their knowledge and tips.

• Obtain educational materials and take part in engaging activities such as a photo booth or a kids’ corner with games.

The event will take place from July 25-28, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Old Town and Litewski Square in Lublin. The campaign is open to people of all ages—from children to seniors. Adults, teenagers, and children aged six and above are encouraged to participate.

The campaign “Look, Poland! Keep a Watchful Eye on Cancer!” is part of the European Commission’s initiative aimed at raising awareness about cancer, its prevention, and available treatment methods. In the Lublin Voivodeship, 9,100 cases of malignant tumors were diagnosed in 2021, and 4,800 people died from the disease. Early detection and education are crucial in the fight against cancer.

During the event, there will be oncology experts and individuals sharing their personal experiences in battling cancer. Among the invited guests will be Joanna Górska, a journalist and president of the “Silni Sobą” Foundation, who will share her story of fighting breast cancer.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about cancer prevention and early detection, which are key to effectively combating the disease. It is also an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge about the latest achievements in oncology. Take advantage of the experts’ knowledge and learn how to take care of your health.
