About Lublin ophthalmology in BBC News

Lublin ophthalmology is dynamically developing and at present it is offering aid to refugees from Ukraine thanks to  state-of-the-art technologies. Recently the city of Lublin and the Medical University of Lublin – in particular its Rector, Professor Wojciech Załuska, and Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Digitization and Promotion,  the Head of the Department of General Ophthalmology and Clinic at the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Lublin, Professor Robert Rejdak – have been subject to special interest from the media, both on the global as well as the national and local level, due to their activities.

Since the University invests in the most advanced 3D technologies for surgical procedures,  it can also help the most injured victims of the war. It is the main center in Poland to which the injured, in particular children, are directed. It is here that they receive help from an interdisciplinary team of the best specialists, or  are sent to other centres in Poland and abroad.

It is worth noting that the Department and the Clinic of General Ophthalmology headed by Professor Robert Rejdak is the only facility of its kind in Poland that was accepted to participate in the ERN EYE – European Reference Network of Rare Diseases. Moreover, it also serves as the National Eye Trauma Center and the only branch of the European School of Advanced Ophthalmology Studies ESASO in Central and Eastern Europe.

Below there are just a few examples of what the global (BBC), national and local media are reporting on their activities:
