On 18th July, we actively participated in the 12th plenary meeting of the Lublin Partnership for Accessibility, of which the Cluster is a signatory. This cross-sector partnership aims to promote and support initiatives that increase the accessibility of public spaces, services, and products for people with special needs.
Mr. Wojciech Dec, President of the Forum of Lublin Non-Governmental Organisations (FLOP), which leads the Lublin Leaders of Accessibility project, presented the main objectives of the project and outlined the planned directions for upcoming activities. The discussion emphasised the need to strategically strengthen the development of the Lublin Partnership for Accessibility, continue social education, and promote best practices in accessibility. Additionally, the importance of considering end-users (i.e., individuals with special needs) during the design phase of various solutions was highlighted.
A significant point of the meeting was the announcement of FLOP’s initiative to launch the “2025 Year of Accessibility” social campaign. This campaign aims to have the Senate of the Republic of Poland designate 2025 as the “Year of Accessibility”. The campaign seeks to raise public awareness about accessibility and encourage actions towards creating more inclusive spaces for all citizens.
